Mochizuki Kotaro is a mild-mannered, unmanly high school student. One day, he visits a library and meets the mysterious librarian Himiko, who recommends to him an ancient book about a heroic general from the Sengoku period 400 years ago. Kotaro notices that he has the same name and age as the general described in the book, and he experiences a flashback. Kotaro later mentions the book to his father, who tells him that he may be the descendent of a powerful samurai. At that moment, Kotaro receives a message from his childhood friend Ai telling him that their classmate Nakamura Tsuyoshi is in trouble. He rushes to the scene but does not have the courage to help, until another flashback transforms him into a samurai.
Later on he starts a war with himself, being possessed by his ancestor. During the drama, he figures out why the ancestor hold possession of his body. In the end, Kotaro becomes into a brave warrior, just like his ancestor Mochizuki-dono, learns more about himself, and his ancestor fulfils his death poem wish.
I'll be sincere, only watched it, because he transforms into a samurai, and of course to see what his ancestor will do next. I thought it was a cool drama. Here's the tough part. If it was based on his ancestor I would give 8/10, and if it was based more on Kotaro I would give it 5/10. Reason will be the ancestor kept the drama more alive than the original Kotaro. Kotaro only shined in the last episode of Samurai High School. I highly recommend only to those who loves samurai characters like myself, and those who loves plain goofy high school dramas.
